Overview of Contract

The Washington Research Library Consortium (WRLC) is an organization that provides a digital library system for eight universities in the Washington, D.C. area, including The George Washington University, American University, The Catholic University of America, Georgetown University, and others.

The WRLC contracted Réalise Design to create a new corporate logo and identity guidelines for the group, and then implement this new identity in a redesign of the WRLC corporate Web site. The WRLC also requested a new identity for its flagship product, ALADIN -- an integrated electronic database access system used by the consortium's member libraries. These separate requests resulted in four distinct but related design projects:

  1. Creation of a new cohesive institutional identity for the WRLC;
  2. Corresponding redesign of the WRLC corporate Web site to match the group's new institutional identity (including style proposal, planning for layout and navigation, creating any necessary graphics, and all HTML, CSS, and SSI coding);
  3. Creation of a new identity (logo and color palette) for the ALADIN system; and
  4. Visual redesign of the ALADIN user interface.
